About the event
Langlade and Lincoln Counties were recently Governor Designated HUBZone areas! If your business is located in either of these counties, please join us to learn how you can take advantage of the opportunity to contract with the the Federal Government and Government Primes! All business types are encouraged to participate (restaurants, realtors, manufacturers, etc...). Representatives from SBA and Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI) will be there to guide us through the process and answer any questions.
The HUBZone program (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) supports small business growth with a goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars as well as 3% of large federal contractor subcontracting dollars to certified companies each year. The HUBZone map now includes Juneau, Langlade, and Lincoln counties on the SBA HUBZone map as “Governor-Designated Covered Areas.” Currently, many Federal agencies and Federal prime contractors are not meeting their HUBZone goals. Certified HUBZone firms have a unique preference in Federal government contracting.
Joining the session will be representatives from:
- Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) https://wedc.org/
- U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) including Geri Sanchez Aglipay, Region V Administrator
